Doing my Part

Been feeling just a wee bit bad about all the plastic bags I bring home from the grocery store (although now that we have a dog we DO re-use said bags), and it just so happens that the project of the month this month is TO THE MARKET BAGS!! How perfect.
Off to the market to find a fun print with which to make a bag...

I know those ironed plastic bags are blowing up all over the crafting blogs these days, but I guess if I'm going to have them around the house I'd rather use them to pick up dog crap then iron them together to make a new fabric.

tell me, seriously, how this can possibly hold enough groceries? i mean, i'm one of those gals that goes and spends $150 and fills up the cart. i try not to return. this little bag would never cut it. i guess i would have to make 10 of them :).

sara, you are so right! it only held my veggies. i guess i'll just take it to the ballard market to pick up my fresh foods...
melissa, hip-hip! they are super fun to make, huh? i just picked up that bend-the-rules sewing book and just know i'll be dying for the kids to go back to school so i can spend some time in front of the machine.
